Counseling – Family Members of Veterans
THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL THERAPY. Instead of an office, we offer the great outdoors and a beautiful setting in the foothills. Instead of a couch, there’s red dirt and sunshine. Instead of being asked to share thoughts and feelings, we promote interactions with horses. Sound a little odd? We know; we thought so too……at first……until we saw the hope and healing that takes place at Stillwater Ranch.
Our team is comprised of a mental health specialist, an equine specialist, and our equine buddies. This is an experiential form of psychotherapy where clients are involved in hands-on experiences with the horses designed to reflect things going on in their lives. The model works due to the horses’ nature as social and prey animals. They have an extraordinary ability to read nonverbal communication. They mirror and respond to the messages they pick up from the people around them. They teach us important life lessons along the way as they are non-judgmental, live in the moment, are excellent communicators, and unconditionally accept us as we are right now.
Please call or email us to find out more or to set an appointment. We offer Ranch Tours so guests can come out to meet us, meet the herd, and learn more about who we are and what we do.
Our sessions are always FREE so there’s no risk in giving it a try. And who knows, you just might find a bit of hope with the help of a horse or two.
BY APPOINTMENT ONLY!

New Horizons Christian Church is a fellowship of believers that has been waiting for you. This is a place where your family can grow in intimacy with God through the teaching of the Bible, praise and worship, and develop a deeper relationship with Christ and other believers.
We realize that worship is not so much about “style” as it is about “heart”… and the heart of our worship is truly about Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
Our music is mainly Christian contemporary praise and worship songs with a blend of the great worship hymns of our great Christian heritage. One magnifies, praises, and worships the Lord, bringing us into His presence. The latter are often the great testimonies of our past. “This is my story, this is my song… praising my Savior all the day long”; or “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me.” These can and should be the great treasures of our past along with the new songs that usher us into the great courts of God in our spirits.
